Job summary

HMG Healthcare is hiring a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to support nursing staff by safely administering prescribed medications and maintaining accurate records. The CMA will monitor patients for adverse reactions and ensure timely, correct administration in a post-acute setting.

Qualifications

• Current Texas Medication Aide certification (not Medical Assistant).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of medication administration principles and healthcare safety standards.
• Ability to pass background checks and health screening requirements.
• Strong communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare team members.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications under supervision of licensed nurses.
• Monitor for adverse reactions or side effects and report observations promptly.
• Maintain accurate medication administration records in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Assist with basic patient care activities and monitor health status.
• Ensure medication storage areas are organized, secure, and compliant with safety standards.
• Participate in ongoing training and competency evaluations to maintain certification.
