Job summary

Wyandot Memorial Hospital is seeking a certified Medical Records Coder to join our Medical Records team. This full-time role codes and abstracts patient encounters, reviews documentation for accuracy, and ensures compliant claims submission in collaboration with providers and Patient Financial Services.

The ideal candidate will hold CPC or CCS certification (or obtain within 12 months), possess strong attention to detail, and have experience with hospital/professional claims and Epic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPC or CCS certification required or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Experience coding hospital and/or professional claims.
• Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Code and abstract patient encounters with diagnostic and procedural information.
• Review clinical documentation to ensure accurate coded data for reimbursement.
• Audit documentation and coded data for accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with providers and Patient Financial Services to ensure timely claims submission.
• Maintain confidentiality and provide professional service to patients and departments.
