Job summary

NWOS is hiring a Certified Medical Coder to ensure accurate coding using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS, and to verify that medical documentation supports services billed. This on-site role requires collaboration with clinical staff to obtain complete charge information and ensure compliant, timely billing.

The ideal candidate holds CPC or COSC certification, with 2+ years in medical office billing or coding preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of current ICD10 and CPT guidelines.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and human anatomy.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of computer systems and programs.
• Knowledge of modern office equipment including fax machines, copiers, scanners, etc.

Responsibilities

• Code procedures using CPT, ICD-10, and modifiers.
• Verify documentation and complete charge information for billing.
• Assist with insurance information, referrals, and payments processing.
• Correct and resubmit claims as needed to ensure accurate payments.
• Maintain billing records and reports in accordance with policies.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and insurance companies.
