Qualifications

• Must have one of the following coding credentials: AHIMA (CCA, CCS, CCS-P) or AAPC (CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H, CPC-H-A).
• Two years’ experience in healthcare accounts receivable (AR).
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Associate degree or higher in a related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review documentation to identify facts for CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Code evaluation and management to CPT and ICD-10 as needed.
• Meet with physicians to review documentation and obtain signatures.
• Assist coders and staff with terminology and policy interpretation.
• Help raise physician awareness of documentation requirements.
• Prepare case reports and initiate billing follow-up.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
