EvergreenHealth is seeking a Coding Specialist to abstract and code CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM for professional services, ensuring accuracy and compliance. You will collaborate with clinicians and billing teams to resolve denials and optimize revenue.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and current coding credentials (CPC/CCA/COC, CMC, CCS-P/CCS/RHIA/RHIT). Strong communication, anatomy knowledge, and payer-billing understanding are essential.

Competenze

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Current professional coding credential: AAPC CPC/CCA/COC, PMI CMC, or AHIMA CCS-P/CCS/RHIA/RHIT
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding conventions
• Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology and disease processes
• General understanding of payer billing requirements

Mansioni

• Abstracts, analyzes, and assigns CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM codes for professional services.
• Meets department productivity and accuracy standards.
• Communicates with clinicians and staff regarding CPT code changes.
• Evaluates coding inquiries for accuracy based on documentation.
• Researches denials and drafts appeal letters for denial management.
• Identifies trends in code changes, payer denials, and compliance risks.
• Suggests documentation improvements to supervisors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
