Job summary

Virtual Vocations Inc. is seeking a full-time remote Certified Medical Coder to support healthcare operations by coding ambulatory surgery, hospital visits, and clinic procedures using ICD-9 and ICD-10 as well as CPT and HCPCS codes.

The coder will ensure compliance with coding guidelines and quality standards from a home office in the United States. Key responsibilities include coding services, maintaining quality and productivity, and participating in staff meetings and training to improve

Qualifications

• Completion of vocational school or certificate in medical terminology and coding.
• Certification as a Professional Coder or equivalent coding credential.
• Knowledge of ICD, CPT, and E&M coding, plus billing compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Windows, including Excel and 10-key data entry.
• Strong customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Code hospital and clinic services by assigning ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes using encoding software.
• Maintain coding quality and productivity standards while tracking and reporting coding activities as required.
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance team communication and coding quality.
