Job summary

Medix in Renton, WA seeks a Senior Medical Coder to support coding, billing, documentation compliance, and revenue cycle operations in a clinic setting. You will code high-volume encounters and resolve claim issues to maximize reimbursement.

The ideal candidate is highly independent, able to begin coding with minimal onboarding, and will work on-site four days per week in a fast-paced environment. Active CPC or CCS certification and 5+ years of coding experience are required.

Qualifications

• Active CPC certification through AAPC or CCS through AHIMA required.
• CPCA apprenticeship status not eligible.
• Minimum 5+ years of medical coding experience.
• Senior-level coding proficiency with minimal oversight.
• Ability to begin coding accurately with minimal onboarding.
• On-site in clinic 4 days per week for 8-hour shifts (or 10-hour blocks).

Responsibilities

• Assign CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS codes per guidelines.
• Review charge review queues for coding compliance and revenue capture.
• Investigate coding issues and advise on claim edits.
• Query clinicians for documentation clarification.
• Provide coding education and training to providers.
• Support on-site operations and process improvements.
