Job summary

Cabarrus Rowan Community Health Centers is seeking a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant I to support clinical teams in our assigned clinic. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Medical Assistant Certification within 90 days of hire; CPR and BLS required.
• English communication skills, both verbal and written; patient-centered approach.
• Familiarity with basic computer operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients, prepare for provider encounters, and record health history and vital signs.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record under supervision.
• Assist in telephone follow-up with patients as directed.
• Support patient education and follow-up on care plans.
• Prepare clinic by setting up instruments, running tests, and cleaning rooms.
• Handle clerical duties: labs, referrals, insurance verification, demographics.
• Assist with procedures and document results.
• Maintain stock and order supplies; verify receipt.
• Keep equipment operating; perform basic maintenance.
• Maintain a safe, confidential, and patient-centered environment.
• Protect patient health information and privacy.
• Participate in in-services, trainings and meetings.
