Job summary

Cabarrus-Rowan Community Health Center is seeking a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant I to support clinicians in the assigned clinic. The CMA/RMA will help collect patient information, document in the electronic health record, and assist with procedures as part of a patient-centered care team.

Under supervision, the CMA/RMA will help manage patient flow, perform clerical tasks, and contribute to a safe, efficient care environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in English accurately and concisely both verbally and in writing.
• Professional and patient-centered interaction with patients and staff.
• Plan, prioritize and complete tasks with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill patient care responsibilities to all patient populations, including pediatrics as assigned.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the patient’s electronic health record under procedures.
• Assist in telephone follow-up with patients as directed by the provider or DOCS.
• Assist with patient health education and follow-up on care plans under supervision.
• Complete clinic maintenance tasks: setting up instruments, running tests, cleaning rooms, documenting tasks.
• Handle clerical duties: obtain lab/x-ray reports, verify insurance, patient demographics.
• Assist provider with procedures and document results.
• Inventory supplies and verify receipt of orders.
• Maintain equipment by following operating instructions and performing maintenance.
• Maintain safe, confidential, and healthy work environment; protect patient information.
• Attend in-services, staff meetings, trainings, and professional development.
• Adhere to infection control guidelines.
• Translation services available upon management request.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
