Southcoast Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Swansea Primary Care location. The role supports providers, manages patient flow, and uses EMR systems to update records while ensuring patient confidentiality.

A $3,500 new hire sign-on bonus is available for this 40-hour day shift. Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, handling patient communications, and providing language interpretation when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus specialized courses and training.
• Certification as Medical Assistant within 13 months if non-certified.
• Completed Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience with EMR/health-related software preferred.
• 1 year MA experience preferred.
• Second language/medical interpreting preferred.
• Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 or approved exemption.

Responsabilités

• Assist providers with patient care and procedures.
• Support efficient patient flow in the clinic or medical office.
• Handle telephone communications including test results and scheduling under supervision.
• Use EMR to update patient information while maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
• Provide medical interpretation in languages other than English when needed.
