Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Physician Practice Lorain Float Pool. The Medical Assistant provides direct and indirect patient care under the provider's direction, including taking vitals, documenting needs, and assisting with examinations.

The role requires completing an MA program within 30 days of employment and a CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA certification within 12 months, with BLS certification required for certain locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Enrollment in an approved Medical Assistant program within 30 days of employment is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with chief complaints and vital statistics (BP, respirations, pulse oximetry, height, weight, temperature).
• Document patient information and plan/cooperate in care delivery with providers.
• Administer medications as directed within scope and state guidelines.
• Identify changes in patient condition and report to provider.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist physicians during visits.
