Mercy Health is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant for the Physician Practice Lorain Float Pool in Ohio. The role supports providers with patient care, data collection and clinical tasks under supervision.

The position requires MA certification within 12 months, completion of externship or clinical training, and preferred MA experience. Mercy Health offers competitive pay, benefits, and a sign-on bonus for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; enrollment in MA program within 30 days.
• Active MA certification within 12 months: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA (note: some certifications not accepted in SC)
• 1 year MA experience preferred.
• Externship or clinical lab training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately records patient medical history and vital signs.
• Interview patients to obtain information and measurements.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Collect specimens and prepare for testing.
• Provide prescription and drug information to patients as directed.
• Explain procedures, medications and instructions to patients.
• Maintain clean and sterile equipment and surfaces.
• Perform routine lab tests and administrative duties.
• Communicate effectively with patients and team in a high-volume setting.
