Job summary

Mercy Health in Lorain is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support the physician practice in interventional radiology. You will review health records, measure vitals, prepare exam rooms, and assist the care team to deliver high-quality patient care.

The role requires MA certification within 12 months, BLS, and strong communication and clerical skills. Prior healthcare experience is a plus, with opportunities for professional development and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Active Medical Assisting certification within 12 months of start date.
• BLS certification required or preferred depending on site; at minimum, BLS recommended for patient care.
• One year of medical assistant experience preferred; two years of clerical experience in a physician's office also preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner.
• Prepares & reviews patient charts for upcoming visits by verifying that all diagnostic test results and records are up to date.
• Measures vital signs such as pulse rate, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height.
• Performs departmental-related clerical duties such as inventory checks, stock supplies, tracking referrals, and answering phones as needed.
• Must possess the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
