Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Medical Assistant to manage patient flow, document vitals and assist with examinations. You will support providers, prepare exam rooms, and ensure accurate charting in the EMR system.

The ideal candidate is a certified Medical Assistant with at least two years of clinical office experience, willing to obtain certification within 18 months, and able to work in a fast-paced team. BLS CPR is required on hire.

Qualifications

• Must be certified Medical Assistant.
• Two years of clinical support in a medical office preferred or completion of a MA training program.
• Must obtain Medical Assistant certification within 18 months of hire.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients to exam rooms promptly.
• Document patient vitals and chief complaints.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Draw blood and collect specimens as needed.
• Prepare and route specimens to laboratories.
• Record all patient interactions and outcomes in the medical record.
• Coordinate scheduling of follow-up appointments and tests.
