Job summary

WellMed in Texas is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. The CMA provides direct patient care under supervision, assists physicians and nursing staff, and handles routine rooming, specimen collection, and basic vitals using standard procedures.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, CMA certification or ability to obtain within 180 days, BLS certification, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CMA certification or able to obtain within 180 days.
• Current BLS certification at hire or within 30 days.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic computer literacy with Excel.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• TB screening and immunity proof required.

Responsibilities

• Operate diagnostic equipment and collect specimens.
• Room patients and prepare them for examinations.
• Document care in medical records accurately.
• Coordinate patient care per physician instructions.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and infection control.
• Organize exam/treatment rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Follow Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
