Job summary

WellMed, part of UnitedHealth Group, is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under supervision in a Texas clinic. You will room patients, collect specimens, perform basic procedures, and assist providers in a fast-paced environment.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, MA certification or ability to obtain within 180 days, BLS, medical terminology knowledge, and basic computer skills including Excel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain within 180 days.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic computer literacy with intermediate Excel skills.
• Ability to respond calmly in emergencies.
• Willingness to meet vaccination and health screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties within Medical Assistant scope under supervision.
• Assist physicians and nursing staff and gather patient data.
• Record patient care documentation accurately.
• Coordinate patient care per policies and standards.
• Maintain infection control and privacy guidelines.
• Sterilize equipment and prepare exam rooms.
• Screen patients and support delegation of orders as needed.
