Job summary

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, and certification as a Medical Assistant with BLS. Preferred: formal MA training program. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred completion of a formal medical assistant training program.
• Experience handling confidential information in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Supports the patient and provider throughout the patient visit
• Ensures the patient and provider are prepared for the visit
• Answers patient questions before leaving; prepares room for next appointment
• Provides excellent patient service through effective communication in person and over the phone
• Completes documentation including patient registration if necessary
• Maintains clinical knowledge, skills, and credentials through ongoing development
• Complies with Department of Transportation Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs when in occupational health clinics
• Adapts communication and care to diverse patient populations
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards
