Job summary

Health First is seeking a Medical Assistant Certified to provide comprehensive care during office visits, handling intake, labs, and medication administration. The role emphasizes patient-centered service and coordination with care providers while ensuring safety and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities include performing point-of-care tests, documenting results, and supporting multiple providers. A CMA or RMA certification and BLS are required, with routine OSHA compliance and patient education

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical Diploma in Medical Assisting.
• AHA BLS Healthcare Provider card required.
• CMA or RMA certification from recognized bodies.
• Background check if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and performs point-of-care testing such as urine dipstick and glucose with proper documentation.
• Administers medications as ordered by provider using the 6 Rights of Medication Administration; validates by licensed staff for controlled substances.
• Assists in stocking supplies and maintains equipment; coordinates supply orders with site manager.
• Sets up patients for examination and prepares pre-work including notes, test results and imaging.
• Performs specimen collection and/or point-of-care testing per provider instruction.
