Job summary

UNC Health in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant II, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. You will work under the supervision of the provider and the clinic manager, performing rooming, vitals, and data collection.

This position includes a $7500 commitment incentive paid in 3 installments over 3 years. Eligible candidates must be certified, have at least one year of MA experience, and hold BLS.

Qualifications

• Requires Medical Assistant certification by AAMA/AMT/CCMA/NCMA/NCCT.
• BLS certification (AHA/ARC) required.
• At least one year of full-time experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified.
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to document information into the electronic medical record.

Responsibilities

• Performs rooming and intake with vital signs and patient data.
• Collects patient medical and social history.
• Reviews medications and allergies; supports care.
• Assists provider during treatments and procedures.
• Collects specimens and performs phlebotomy.
• Administers medications under provider direction.
• Performs tests such as EKG and eye exams under supervision.
• Maintains exam and treatment rooms and supplies.
• Assists with registration, scheduling, and referrals.
• Responds to clinic calls and supports nursing staff.
