Job summary

61st Street Service Corporation provides administrative and clinical support to ColumbiaDoctors and other multi-specialty practices in the Northeast. The CMA will work with providers and staff to deliver an excellent patient experience in ambulatory settings.

The position requires CMA certification, BCLS/AED, and strong organizational and communication skills; employment emphasizes service, inclusion, and teamwork across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalency and graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• CMA must be certified by a credentialing body.
• Current BCLS/AED certification required.
• Must demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills across multi-disciplinary specialties.
• Ability to work with diverse groups in an inclusive workforce.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to deescalate stressful situations.
• Engaged team member with collaboration, reliability, punctuality, and adaptability.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills including EMR, Excel, Word, email systems.

• Will provide coverage across multiple sites and flexible schedule.
• Associate degree or additional coursework preferred.
• Prior EMR experience, Epic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with patients, visitors, vendors, and faculty and staff.
• Prepare patients for visits including pre-visit organization, rooming, vital signs, and documentation in Epic.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures within scope.
• Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care tests.
• Prepare and label specimens and ensure timely delivery.
• Enter orders in Epic and notify team of emergencies.
• Open sterile packages under supervision and manage sterile technique.
• May remove sutures or staples under supervision as needed.
• Perform additional specialty-specific duties as assigned.
• Provide coverage across practices as requested.
