Job summary

61st Street Service Corporation is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support ColumbiaDoctors in an ambulatory setting. The CMA will work with providers across specialties, assisting with examinations, phlebotomy, specimen handling, and EMR documentation to ensure an excellent patient experience.

The role emphasizes service orientation, inclusion, and safety, with coverage across multiple sites and a flexible schedule. Epic EMR proficiency is preferred, with BCLS/AED certification required.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalency; CMA program completion.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by credentialing body.
• Current BCLS/AED certification.
• Ability to perform across multi-disciplinary specialties.
• Inclusive workforce commitment and strong communication skills.
• Prior outpatient medical assisting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and interact with visitors and staff.
• Prepare patients for visits, escort and room, document chief complaints and update EMR (Epic).
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures as needed.
• Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care tests (urinalysis, pregnancy).
• Label and deliver specimens; ensure labs are documented in Epic.
• Enter orders in Epic and notify physicians of emergencies.
• May assist with sutures/staples under supervision.
• Open sterile packages under supervision; manage autoclave processes.
• Provide coverage across practices and flexible schedules.
