Job summary

UNC Health Family Medicine at North Raleigh is seeking a Medical Assistant II, Certified to join our outpatient clinic team. The role provides routine clinical and administrative support to providers and care team under supervision in a fast-paced setting.

You will collect vitals, assist with procedures, handle phlebotomy, administer medications as directed, and help ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality care with a team-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Requires Medical Assistant certification (AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA or NCMA).
• BLS Certification from AHA/ARC required.
• At least 1 year of full-time Medical Assistant experience.
• Completion of a MA program is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming and intake, collect vitals and patient data.
• Review medication lists, allergies, and pharmacy.
• Assist provider during treatments and procedures.
• Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
• Administer medications under supervision.
• Perform tests (EKG, basic eye exams) under supervision.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies.
• Provide patient instructions and educational materials.
