Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill is seeking a Medical Assistant II, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. You will work under supervision of the provider and clinic manager.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, collecting vitals, medication reviews, phlebotomy, medication administration, and assisting with procedures. A commitment incentive is offered and state employment benefits apply.

Qualifications

• One year of full-time experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (AAMA/AMT/NCMA/CCMA/ NRCMA).
• Completion of a Medical Assisting program preferred but not required.
• CPR/BLS certification from AHA or ARC is required.

Responsibilities

• Rooming and intake with vitals and visit reason.
• Collect patient data including medical and social history.
• Review meds list, allergies, and preferred pharmacy.
• Assist provider during treatments and procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Administer medications under provider direction.
• Conduct tests (EKG, eye exams) under supervision.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Assist with patient registration, scheduling, and referrals.
• Provide post-visit instructions and educational material.
