Job summary

UNC Health Faculty Physicians Clinics at Eastowne in Chapel Hill, NC seeks a Certified Medical Assistant II to support the UNCFP Geriatrics Clinic, with potential time in the Infectious Diseases Clinic. The role includes rooming and intake, phlebotomy, vaccine administration, and patient education, working alongside geriatricians and staff.

Qualified candidates will have CMA certification, at least one year of experience, BLS, and may have completed an accredited Medical Assisting program;

Qualifications

• Must have at least one year of full-time experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified.
• Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES is strongly preferred but not required.
• Possesses CMA certification from AAMA, AMT, NCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA.

Responsibilities

• Performs rooming/intake with vital signs and visit reason.
• Collects patient data and medical history.
• Reviews medications and allergies; assists with treatments and procedures.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection; administers medications as directed.
• Completes tests (EKG, eye exams) under provider supervision.
• Maintains exam/treatment rooms and supplies.
