Job summary

Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (Float) to support extended-hours clinics in Grandview, WA. This full-time role involves floating to regional sites, with an Epic EMR system and bilingual pay incentives.

The clinic offers a comprehensive benefits package and a $5,000 hiring/retention bonus structure. Responsibilities include maintaining patient records, preparing visits, assisting physicians, collecting specimens, and providing patient education.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program (CAAHEP/ABHES or similar) with at least 720 hours including 160 clinical externship.
• One year CMA experience preferred.
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must have CMA certification or CMA interim certification from WA State Department of Health.
• Spanish-speaking skills preferred at ALTA level 10.
• Bilingual differential compensation eligibility with ALTA score 10.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and basic clinical workflows.
• Strong computer skills including EMR (Epic) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient medical records and updates medical history, vitals, treatments, and immunizations.
• Prepares for patient visits, reviews files, and communicates with providers.
• Collaborates with providers to maximize schedule efficiency and continuity of care.
• Prepares and maintains exam rooms and supplies; sterilizes equipment.
• Assists during examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.
• Provides patient education and discharge information; answers questions.
• Handles specimen collection, lab work, and reports in EMR.
• Administers medications as directed and follows clinical policies.
• Travel to surrounding YVFWC sites as needed and maintain reliable transportation.
• Maintains compliance with Joint Commission, HRSA, and YVFWC requirements.
