Job summary

Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant in Walla Walla, WA. This 40-hour role supports providers, manages patient flow, and maintains records using Epic EMR.

Fluency in Spanish is a plus, with a competitive hourly wage and a bilingual differential for ALTA score of 10. Responsibilities include preparing patients, assisting during exams, handling specimens, and coordinating care with the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required (accredited).
• Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program with at least 720 hours and 160 clinical externship.
• One year CMA experience preferred.
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Medical Assistant Certification or Interim Certification from WA DOH.
• Spanish-speaking skills preferred at ALTA score of 10.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient medical records and update immunization history.
• Prepare for patient visits; review labs, referrals, and reports.
• Collaborate with Providers to maintain schedules and care continuity.
• Prepare and sterilize exam rooms and equipment.
• Explain procedures and provide patient education as needed.
• Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures.
• Collect specimens and assist with lab tests; document results in EMR.
