MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is a physician-led outpatient service within MUSC. The Certified Medical Assistant performs multi-skilled tasks to support patient-centered care and assists in examination and treatment under physician direction.

Responsibilities include interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and maintaining accurate medical records. Requires high school diploma and accredited medical assisting training with CMA/CCMA certification options and BLS.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
• Must be certified through one of AMT, AAMA, NHA, MedCA as CCMA/CMA/NAHP.
• Current BLS required (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or ARC CPR).

Aufgaben

• Interview patients and measure vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, height/weight).
• Record inputs into patients’ medical records.
• Prepare examination rooms for patient visits.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Maintain annual competencies.
