Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support outpatient care at our rural and Charleston clinics. You will interview patients, measure vital signs, document in the medical record, and prepare exam rooms under physician direction.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited medical assisting program, and current BLS. CMA/CCMA or NCCT certification with strong communication is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assisting program preferred.
• Current certification: AMT/AAMA/NHA/NCCT or CMA/CCMA as CMA/CCMA or NCCT is expected.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to follow detailed instructions.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients and measures vital signs, records information in the medical record.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination and supports physicians during procedures.
• Performs basic computer data entry and maintains patient care documentation.
