Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support outpatient care by interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information in the medical record. They assist in preparing treatment rooms under physician direction.

The ideal candidate will have completed an accredited medical assisting program, possess CPR/BLS, and be certified as CCMA/CMA by recognized bodies; 40-hour workweek, competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience preferred.
• Must be certified through AMT, AAMA, NHA, MedCA as CCMA or CMA or NAHP.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs (pulse, temperature, BP, weight, height) and records data.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examinations and maintains readiness.
• Communicates effectively with patients and staff in writing and verbally.
