Job summary

Southcoast Health System, Inc. is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Hand Surgery clinic in Dartmouth, MA.

The position offers a 32-hour workweek and a daytime shift from 8:30am to 5:00pm, with a $2,800 new hire sign-on bonus for this role. Under supervision and in collaboration with clinic staff, the CMA will support providers, manage patient flow, and utilize EMR systems while ensuring patient privacy and quality care.

Qualifications

• Completion of four years of high school or equivalent plus specialized courses and training.
• National third-party certification (AMCA, AAMA, AMT, CCMA, or NCMA) within 13 months of hire as non-certified Medical Assistant.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent medical office experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Prior EMR experience preferred.
• One year of medical assisting experience preferred.
• Fluency in another language and medical interpreting is preferred.
• Other certifications may be preferred depending on practice specialty.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 or be exempt with a signed statement.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient care and procedures.
• Facilitate efficient patient flow through the clinic or medical office.
• Handle telephone communications with patients including test results, schedules, and follow-up.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
