SUMMARY:Provide support to students including but not limited to maintaining health records, basic health care support for maintaining a compliant standing, assisting with Behavioral Health scheduling and record keeping. Primary role is to ensure the immediate well-being of students while communicating with the Medical director and/or Departmental Psychologist.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:STUDENT HEALTH
- Processes new student medical packets for the Medical, Graduate and PA Schools.
- Yearly administration and record keeping of annual FLU Shot requirement.
- Yearly administration and record keeping of the annual FIT Testing requirement.
- Daily Vaccine Inventory management.
- Trains medical and nursing students for assistance in multiple FLU and Fit Testing clinics throughout the year.
- Validates Medical records for students entering clinical rotations.
- Draws up vaccinations for injections and administers to patient
- Handles patient calls and relays to physician through the Medicat EMR system.
- Prepares exam room for patient visits.
- Scans into the Medicat EMR all appropriate patient-related correspondence and information.
- Maintains office and medical supply inventory
- Stocks exam rooms and keeps exam rooms neat and orderly.
- Orders injectables and vaccines.
- Maintains office and medical supply inventory.
- Handles incoming and outgoing mail.
- Communicates with the Department's various staff and offices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Understands and adheres to Rowan's compliance standards as they appear in Rowan's Corporate Compliance, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest policies.
EMPLOYEE HEALTH
- Yearly administration and record keeping of annual FLU Shot requirement.
- Medical clearance and implementation of (PPD and/or TB Gold Test) for all new hires.
- Working with other departments as needed.
- Answers Phones and responds to Voicemail and Emails.
- Maintains office and medical supply inventory
- Stocks exam rooms and keeps exam rooms neat and orderly.
- Handles incoming and outgoing mail.
- Communicates with the Department's various staff and offices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Understands and adheres to Rowan's compliance standards as they appear in Rowan's Corporate Compliance, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest policies.
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
- Checks patients in through the Medicat EMR system; verifies all pre appointment paperwork has been completed.
- Schedules patient appointments for office visits through Medicat EMR system.
- Prepares patients for visits, including taking history, chief complaint, etc.. Documents in EMR system.
- Assists Psychologist with patient care.
- Handles patient calls and relays to Psychologist through the Medicat EMR system.
- Processes new patient charts in the Medicat EMR system.
- Prepares patient charts for next day visits.
- Scans into the Medicat EMR all appropriate patient-related correspondence and information.
- Handles incoming and outgoing mail.
- Communicates with the Department's various staff and offices.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Understands and adheres to Rowan's compliance standards as they appear in Rowan's Corporate Compliance, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest policies.

- Certification from an accredited medical assistant program is required.
- Knowledge of computers is required.
- At least one year of related experience in a medical office setting is preferred. Student Health Experience preferred.
- A working knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
- Must be able to work any evening required.
- Must have experience in electronic medical records.
- The ability to work independently, excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and flexibility is required.
