Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in Cape May County is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support clinical teams across the practice. This role offers a chance to contribute to patient care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

You will set up patients in the exam room, take vitals, perform EKGs, document encounters, assist with minor procedures, prepare injections, and handle phone messages, faxes, and scheduling as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Set up patient in the exam room.
• Perform and document vitals (including manual blood pressure) and EKGs; reconcile medications; note reason for visit.
• Interview patient about changes in health since last visit.
• Assist the provider with minor surgical procedures.
• Prepare appropriate medications for injections.
• Handle phone messages, faxes, and Medical Reception duties as needed.
• Knowledge of medical insurance terminology and scheduling procedures; operate general office equipment.

Short Description

• Responsible for setting up the patient in the exam room
• Perform and Document:
  • Vital signs (manual BPs),
  • EKGs,
  • Reconciliation of medications
  • Reason for visit, health care concern
• Interview/Discuss with patient changes in patient’s health since last visit
• Assist the provider with minor surgical procedures
• Prepare appropriate medications for injections
• Responsible for phone messages, faxes, and Medical Reception responsibilities as needed
• Knowledge of medical insurance terminology, computer skills for scheduling and familiarity of general office procedures and equipment
