Qualifications

• Phlebotomy skills and patient handling experience.
• CPR certification is required.
• Phlebotomy certification through ASCP/NPA/ASPT or equivalent.
• Experience with collecting a minimum of 100 patient specimens during rotation and continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory specimen collection following established policies and procedures
• Utilize phlebotomy skills in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Coordinate specimen collection and ensure proper handling and processing
• Support patient registration and documentation activities
• Perform peripheral IV insertions and bedside testing as needed
• Maintain positive patient and customer service interactions
• Serve as a liaison between laboratory services and clinical departments
• Assist with quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance
• Participate in outreach phlebotomy services when required
• Maintain laboratory supplies, safety standards, and infection prevention practices
