Job summary

Osceola Medical Center is seeking a casual Phlebotomist/Laboratory Assistant to serve as a liaison between the laboratory and patients. Responsibilities include specimen collection by venipuncture and capillary methods, processing specimens, data entry, and limited testing under supervision of the Laboratory Manager. Must ensure proper labeling and patient identification.

Role requires teamwork and excellent customer service. CPR certification is required; DOT certification may be needed.

Qualifications

• Prior healthcare experience or phlebotomy training preferred.
• Certificate in Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Proper specimen collection and handling (blood and non-blood).
• Process specimens and order laboratory testing.
• Test specimens using waived and non-waived methods.
• Provide results in LIS and over the phone.
• Acquire and maintain CPR certification.
• DOT certification may be required.
• Other duties may be assigned.
