Job summary

Norman Regional Health System in Velma, Oklahoma seeks a Certified Hand Therapist to lead specialized rehabilitation for hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder, with emphasis on evaluation, custom splinting, and recovery planning.

The role involves supervising OT assistants and students, designing orthoses, managing post-surgical rehab, and collaborating with hand surgeons and other clinicians to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• DPT or MOT preferred.
• Graduate of accredited OT program.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of OT Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions.
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehab as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.
