Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to provide specialized rehabilitation for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. You will perform patient evaluations, custom splinting, and develop recovery plans in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities include leading OT staff, fabricating orthoses, and coordinating with hand surgeons and therapists to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• 3+ years of experience in upper-extremity rehabilitation and outpatient therapy.
• Current state PT or OT license; CHT certification; CPR/BLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Directs and supervises activities of OT Assistants, students and support personnel.
• Design, fabricate, fit and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care and precautions.
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions; provide scar management, edema control and return-to-work rehab.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists and other healthcare professionals.
