Job summary

Norman Regional Health System seeks a Certified Hand Therapist to provide specialized rehab for the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. You will evaluate patients, create custom splints, and develop recovery plans in a collaborative multidisciplinary setting.

The role requires at least 3 years in upper-extremity rehabilitation, a current PT or OT license, and a CHT credential. Experience with orthopedic and post-surgical rehab is preferred, and the team emphasizes mentorship and education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Doctor of Physical Therapy or Doctor of Occupational Therapy preferred
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• 3+ years of upper-extremity rehabilitation and outpatient therapy experience
• Current state PT or OT license
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential
• Current CPR/BLS certification

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments and establish plan of care
• Provide therapeutic interventions appropriate to age and disability
• Document Delivery of Occupational Therapy services
• Directs and supervises activities of OT assistants, students and support personnel
• Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand and upper-extremity conditions
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care, and precautions
• Treat patients with orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and postoperative conditions
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care, and return-to-work rehabilitation
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions
