Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ seeks a Critical Care Tech to assist with activities of daily living and support the care plan under an RN. Responsibilities include phlebotomy, vital signs, EKGs, Foley care, and patient education across a busy medical-surgical unit.

Requires 0–2 years’ experience, High School diploma or GED, PCT certification, and BLS. Full-time days, 36 hours weekly, 7:00 am–7:30 pm with weekend/holiday rotation. Salary range: $18.00–$29.00/hour.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; completion of Patient Care Technician training.
• Active Patient Care Technician Certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• CPT, CPCT-A, ACMA certifications are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and maintain safety.
• Perform phlebotomy, vital signs, point-of-care testing, EKGs, and Foley care; document appropriately.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to the RN and respond appropriately.
• Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance-improvement activities; assist in orienting new hires.
• Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the due date.
• Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards to ensure a safe environment and high-quality patient care.
• Demonstrate effective communication with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
