Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ, seeks a Critical Care Tech for Kelemen 8. The role supports daily living activities and assists the nursing team with patient care in a busy medical-surgical unit.

The full-time night shift runs 7p–7:30a, 36 hours weekly, with weekend/holiday rotation. Required: HS/GED, PCT training and certification, BLS, CPT/CPCT-A/ACMA certifications. Salary ranges from $18 to $29 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and active Patient Care Technician Certification required.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification required.
• Successful completion of CPT, CPCT-A, ACMA certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, transport) and follow standard precautions.
• Perform phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, EKGs, Foley catheter care as directed by RN.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN and respond appropriately.
• Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives, performance improvement activities, and assist in orienting new hires.
• Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the required due date.
• Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards to ensure a safe environment and high-quality patient care.
• Effective communication with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
• Capacity to identify and communicate changes in patient status.
