Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in Camden, NJ, seeks a Critical Care Tech to support daily patient care under the supervision of an RN. The role involves assisting with activities of daily living, performing clinical tasks, and ensuring safety and compassionate care for patients and families.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, completion of PCC training with active certification, and BLS. Schedule is full-time days, 36 hours per week, with weekend/holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and active Patient Care Technician Certification required.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certifications CPT, CPCT-A, ACM A preferred/required as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, transport) and follow standard precautions.
• Perform phlebotomy, vital signs, point-of-care testing, EKGs, Foley catheter care as directed by RN.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN and respond appropriately.
• Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and orientation of new hires.
• Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the due date.
• Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe environment and high-quality patient care.
• Demonstrate effective communication with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
• Capable of identifying and communicating changes in patient status.
