Job summary

Cooper University Health Care is seeking a part-time Critical Care Technician to support patients under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, performing phlebotomy, vital signs, EKGs, and catheter care, while maintaining safety and professional standards.

Hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., 24 hours per week with weekend/holiday rotation; AHA BLS, CPT/CPCT-A or ACMA certifications are required, along with a high school diploma or GED and PCT

Qualifications

• 0-2 years’ experience required.
• High School/GED required.
• Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and have an active Patient Care Technician Certification required.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification required
• Successful completion of CPT, CPCT-A, ACMA certifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living for patients (bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility).
• Perform phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, EKGs, and Foley catheter care as directed by RN.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to RN and respond appropriately.
• Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and orientation of new hires.
