Rehabilitation Technician, Job Summary

The role of the Rehabilitation Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of Residents to and from therapy, assisting Therapists with treatments, accompanying Residents on trips out of the facility, setting up and maintaining equipment used in the therapy process, light clerical work, and keeping the rehab department clean and organized.

• Transport Residents safely and efficiently to and from therapy and other areas.
• Assist with and accompany Residents on trips out of the facility, which may occur in the late afternoon.
• Set up and maintain therapy equipment and other related processes.
• Assist Therapists and Nurses with daily care and patient therapy as requested.
• Communicate patient performance, condition, and participation to Therapists and Nurses during delegated activities.
• Refer any inquiries regarding the patient's condition, diagnosis, prognosis, progress, care plan, or discharge plan to nurses and therapists.
• Maintain an organized and clutter-free rehab department.
• Assist with clerical tasks as needed or requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and be flexible.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Completed 100 hours of a NYS-approved CNA training course and hold a valid CNA certification in NYS.
• Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting, bending, stooping, stretching, pulling, and pushing loads up to 50 lbs or more.
• COVID-19 vaccinations are encouraged but not mandated; vaccination is offered based on CDC guidelines.
