Job description

A medical services company in New York City is looking to add a new Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to their team in the Bronx. In this role, the CNA will assist with providing and implementing medical care and services for clients with a history of chemical dependence.

About the Opportunity:

1. Start Date: ASAP
2. Assignment Length: Ongoing (Contract to Hire possibility)
3. Shift: Evenings or Nights
4. Schedule: Monday to Friday (alternating weekends)
5. Hours: 3pm to 11pm or 11pm to 7am

Responsibilities:

1. Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating
2. Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure
3. Provide support during detoxification and rehabilitation processes
4. Assist in the administration of medications under the supervision of nursing staff
5. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
6. Support patients in their recovery journey by offering emotional and psychological support
7. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
8. Participate in health education and counseling sessions
9. Assist with psychiatric evaluations and HIV counseling & testing
10. Ensure a clean and safe environment for patients
11. Conduct patient intakes and ongoing searches
12. Perform rounding and monitor vital signs
13. Report adverse events to nursing staff
14. Provide basic patient care

Qualifications:

1. Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA)
2. Basic knowledge of addiction and recovery processes
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
4. Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Desired Skills:

1. Bilingual (English and Spanish)
2. Previous experience in a Detox/Rehab or similar healthcare setting
