Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Completion of an accredited anesthesiologist assistant program.
• Certification from the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants required.
• Current state licensure as an anesthesiologist assistant.
• Ability to respond to varying demands of patient care and document accurately.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients of all ages and obtain pre-anesthetic history.
• Perform pre-anesthetic exam and document data for review by an anesthesiologist.
• Interpret diagnostic studies and obtain arterial/venous samples as appropriate.
• Establish monitoring modalities and assist in anesthesia induction/maintenance.
• Provide post-anesthesia care and record case progress notes.
• Assist in critical life support and airway management.
• Supervise monitors and participate in clinical instruction.
