The Certificate Program Manager serves as a key member of the education team, with a focus on program and course development, program administration, and growth in acquisition and retention. Working closely with the Director of Education Development the role serves as the activity lead in development and exploration of AACE’s Certificate product portfolio roadmap, inclusive of all products and learning assets aligned to a long-term portfolio vision and the association’s strategic objectives.
This is a fully remote role with a salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience developing and delivering education and/or certification programs in a professional learning environment.
- Minimum 3 years’ managerial experience in a small function/area.
- Proven experience in eLearning development, instructional design, adult learning principles, and curriculum design and development
- Design and develop curriculum and interactive learning experiences
- Demonstrated experience using Association Management Systems, Learning Management Systems, and Meeting Registration Systems
- Collaborate effectively with subject matter experts (SMEs), particularly in medical education
- Lead and manage course development projects from concept to launch
- Support the launch of certification programs and other education initiatives
- Proficiency in instructional design tools including Articulate Storyline, Rise, Vyond, Snagit, and Camtasia
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to deliver approved projects on time and within budget
- Proven ability to troubleshoot issues and plan effectively to avoid problems
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working cross-functionally in a collaborative team environment
- Experience in medical education is preferred

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the activity lead for the development of the AACE’s Certificate products, inclusive of all products and learning assets aligned to a long-term portfolio vision and the association’s strategic objectives.
- Ensures compliance with AACE policies and ACCME accreditation standards.
- Execute a plan to grow AACE’s Certificate programs, including metrics of success.
- Manage the creation of new Certificate product concepts and own the development of new products, including integration of feedback from customers, volunteer leadership, and staff as well as pricing analyses.
- Provide critical input to Certificate Program budgets and ongoing budgetary compliance.
- Apply skills and expertise in instructional design and eLearning development to consult and collaborate with subject matter experts to create a series of courses for the certificate programs.
- Develop courses using eLearning authoring and multimedia tools that incorporate adult learning methodology.
- Design visually and intellectually engaging courses that include evidence-based learning design principles and assessment methods.
- Perform regular reviews of AACE’s Certificate product portfolio for continued strategic alignment, leading reprioritization, adjustments to plans, and related allocation of resources as needed due to business changes or critical operational demands.
- Work with marketing, education, membership, and IT to guide, develop, and implement effective marketing and engagement programs that communicate the value of AACE’s Certificate Program.
- Contribute ideas and work collaboratively with all AACE staff, volunteer leaders, partner organizations, vendors to achieve AACE’s mission, and continuously improve the value of the organization.
- Manage and lead the Certificate Programs Committee by developing and maintaining committee charges, course development processes, timelines, and workflow, the nomination process, and updating committee rosters.
- Schedule and participate in committee meeting including evening committee calls.
- Develop and update all documents and processes related to certificate products.
- Work with the Certificate Committee to recruit Subject Matter Experts.
- Manage work of medical editor and other relevant vendor activities such as eLearning designers/develop, instructional designers, video and audio editors if applicable.
- Coordinates processes that facilitate optimum learner experiences, such as development of handouts/syllabus materials, use of assessment tools and participation in any associated exercises on the LMS.
- Collaborates and communicates with other AACE departments to ensure educational planning takes multiple stakeholders’ perspectives into consideration. This includes active engagement with areas such as membership, marketing, meetings, IT, and finance.

- Collaborate with the Director of Global Learning and Professional Development to develop and implement assessment strategies and tactics for all assigned educational activities based upon learning objectives and desired level(s) of educational outcomes.
- Summarizes satisfaction survey data and other educational outcome results, providing interpretation of aggregated results of participants and activity in achieving outcome level(s) and recommendations for future improvements.
- Coordinates timelines for planning educational activities, with milestone reports including financial reports. Facilitate internal and external communications with AACE departments, staff, and committee chairs regarding timelines.
