We are seeking a SOCOM Program Manager (PMP certified) to support the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). This is a remote opportunity with occasional travel to Tampa, FL and the Terrestris Headquarters in northern Virginia.

What will the SOCOM Program Manager at Terrestris do?

The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is a Unified Combatant Command of the Department of Defense (DoD). USSOCOM’s mission is to “Provide fully capable Special Operations Forces to defend the United States and its interests.” As the SOCOM Program Manager, you will prepare, develop, and assist the government in completing program management, research, studies and analysis documents, events, and activities.

What does a typical day look like for the SOCOM Program Manager?

You will provide support in:

  1. Strategic and Operational Planning: Providing mission support and planning products required to address Special Operations capability gaps and unique problems, assisting with developing and presenting ideas, studies, and solutions that support creative and alternative business methods and practices.
  2. Irregular Warfare Support: Providing staff studies, products, expertise, and planning support in the areas of information operations and irregular warfare analysis.
  3. Studies and Analyses: Conducting studies and analyses of current, future, or required capabilities at USSOCOM.
  4. Acquisition Program Management: Providing Program Management expertise such as:
  • Program management support and coordination.
  • Systems engineering.
  • Documentation preparation and coordination.
  • Demonstration and test planning and coordination.
  • Data collection and reporting.
  • Technology evaluation and documentation.
  • Proposal review, technical analysis, and documentation.
  • Knowledge management.
  • Acquisition process improvement.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the Warfighter we’re looking for if you have:

  • A Top Secret Clearance.
  • 10 years’ total experience in USSOCOM assigned organizations as military, Government civilian, or a contractor.
  • 5 years’ Program Management experience on a DoD Contract, ending not longer than 12 months ago.
  • A Master’s Degree in Program Management or any Business related field – OR – have graduated from a US Military War College that issues a Master’s Certificate and an additional 5 years’ (10 years’ total) experience in Program Management – OR – have a Bachelor’s Degree and an additional 5 years’ (total of 15 years’) experience in USSOCOM assigned organizations as military, Government civilian, or contractor.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) or DAWIA Level III PM certification – OR – an additional 5 years’ (total of 10 years’) Program Management experience on a DoD Contract.
