Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Centralized Staffing & Scheduling Coordinator for the Jefferson Avenue Medical Office Building. You will manage scheduling, staffing, and timekeeping, creating and editing shifts, approving requests, and maintaining accurate records in the electronic system.

• Associate degree in business, Data Management, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

• Creates and edits schedules for nursing departments in the scheduling system following hospital policies.
• Prepares accurate daily/shift schedules reflecting forecasted needs with nurse managers.
• Approves or denies schedule requests based on skill mix and unit needs; communicates with managers.
• Maintains and publishes schedules; assesses vacancy rates and posts incentive shifts per policy.
• Arranges coverage for last-minute needs; contacts available staff to meet unit care requirements.
• Identifies complex staffing needs within 24 hours of shift time and arranges appropriate coverage.
• Maintains staffing records and reports; distributes them to leaders as determined by management.
• Assists with allocation of agency resources and other duties pertaining to contract labor.
