Job Description

HF Sinclair is seeking a Central Tech Services Engineer to conduct engineering duties within an assigned discipline and serve as a technical specialist, developing advanced engineering concepts.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide discipline-specific engineering assistance, guidance, and development support to colleagues.
  2. Resolve technical issues related to projects, troubleshoot, and update report data.
  3. Upgrade, design, configure, maintain, and monitor related equipment and performance.
  4. Analyze components, systems, processes, and refinery economics.
  5. Develop project scopes, budgets, and AFEs, ensuring compliance with standards.
  6. Maintain data integrity and optimize business operations through data analysis.
  7. Stay informed about advancements in the discipline.
  8. Develop systems for testing documentation and system maintenance.
Additional Tasks
  • Coordinate and document Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and incident investigations.
  • Provide training on safety and management procedures.
  • Participate in safety audits and reviews.
  • Update risk management programs.
  • Design plant equipment and processes for manufacturing.
  • Research and develop improved manufacturing processes.
  • Design layout and plan operations for product processes.
  • Implement processing controls and investigate work-in-process issues.
  • Review vendor proposals and assist with projects like clean fuel initiatives.
  • Design and oversee plant modifications and act as a liaison with regulatory agencies.
Qualifications

Minimum five years of progressive engineering experience in a relevant discipline. Strong understanding of refinery processes and process safety. Power distribution and controls knowledge required for electrical discipline. Professional Engineer registration and refinery experience are preferred.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required.

Skills

Project management, engineering concepts, technology awareness, effective communication, mathematical skills, proficiency in software tools, safety analysis methodologies, and ability to train others. Knowledge of engineering software is a plus.

Work Conditions & Benefits
