Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to maintain sterile instrument sets and ensure timely availability of supplies in the operating suite.

The role collaborates with Perioperative Nursing to assemble, sterilize and store instruments, contributing to continuous workflow and excellent patient care. Prior CST or Central Sterile tech training is preferred; GED or high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech program.
• In lieu of CST certificate, 3 years Central Sterile experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing surgical instruments.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts.
• Assists in maintaining workflow and provides superior customer service.

Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment. Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required or
• In Lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
