Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare in Georgia is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to support the Perioperative Services team. You will sterilize, assemble and prepare instrument sets and case carts to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

Collaborate with perioperative nurses, maintain standards for decontamination and storage, and provide reliable service to keep workflows moving. Requires a High School Diploma or GED; CST certification or CST program graduate is preferred.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech program.
• 3 years Central Sterile experience or CST certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing instruments accurately and timely.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts accurately and timely.
• Assists in maintaining consistent workflow and provides superior customer service.

Education

Graduate of Central Sterile Tech program

3 years Central Sterile experience or CST certification preferred

Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment. Collaborates with the Perioperative Nursing staff to provide sterile instrument sets, equipment and case carts in an accurate and timely manner. Assists in maintaining consistent and continuous work flow, providing superior customer service.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required and
• Graduate of a Central Sterile Tech Required or
• In Lieu of CST Certificate, 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required

Work Experience

• 3 years of Central Sterile experience Required or
• No experience required if incumbent has a Central Sterile Tech certification Required

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CCST - Certified Central Service Technician Preferred or
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist Preferred
